Greendale Mayor Elected President of Indiana Conference Of Mayors

The appointment allows Mayor Weiss the opportunity to learn about ways to benefit the City of Greendale.

(Greendale, Ind.) - Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) was created to promote and advocate for the success of Hoosier municipalities as laboratories of innovation, hubs of talent and the engines driving our state’s economy.

Last month, City of Greendale Mayor Alan Weiss was elected President of the Indiana Conference of Mayors (ICOM), a non-partisan affiliate group of Aim.

"I appreciate being elected but I feel this is more about how it will benefit Greendale," said Mayor Weiss. " Any way we can put Greendale on the map or highlight Greendale is a good thing."

ICOM meets twice a year, in addition to two Ball State Mayors Institute seminars.

Weiss tells Eagle Country 99.3 that meeting with other mayors from throughout the state offers the chance to learn about ways to improve quality of life in Greendale.

Aside from serving as President of ICOM, Mayor Weiss serves on the EMPA Board, EMPA Legislative Board, Aim Utility Board, and is a Trustee to the Aim Retirement Board.

Weiss also serves as a non-voting member of the Aim Board.
