Early In-Person Voting Open In Kentucky

The general election happens November 6 but eligible voters may be able to vote early

(Frankfort, Ky.) – In-person absentee ballots can now be cast in Kentucky.

Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes says eligible votes can cast an absentee ballot in person at their local county clerk’s office ahead of the November 6 General Election.

According to the Commonwealth of Kentucky State Board of Elections, to be qualified to vote by in-person absentee ballot, you must be:

  • Out of the county on election day
  • Advanced in age, disabled or ill
  • Military, their Dependents, or an Overseas Citizens
  • Military personnel confined to base and learn of your confinement within seven days or less of an election
  • Student or resident who temporarily resides outside of the county
  • Voter or the spouse of a voter who has surgery scheduled that will require hospitalization on election day
  • Pregnant woman in third trimester

Those who don’t qualify to cast an absentee ballot in person may qualify to vote by mail-in absentee ballot. Applications for mail-in ballots are due by Tuesday, October 30.
