(North Vernon, Ind.) - Jennings County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in Country Squire Lakes early Tuesday morning regarding a disturbance.
Upon arrival, deputies came into contact with a male subject who was severely injured. The male subject, as well as witnesses on scene, advised that David Parrish, 38, of North Vernon, had beaten the victim with a baseball bat and then fled on foot.
A short time later, a local homeowner contacted Jennings County Central Dispatch and advised that a male subject was on their porch. Parrish was located a short time later and was taken into custody.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, he was flown by a medical helicopter to a trauma center.
Parrish was housed at Jennings County Jail where he was preliminary charged with Battery with a Deadly Weapon Causing Serious Bodily Injury. More charges are possible as the investigation continues.
