Dillsboro Elementary School Principal Has Suspension Lifted

Hundreds packed a school board meeting last week in support of the principal.

(Aurora, Ind.) - Dillsboro Elementary School Principal Kyle Miller is returning to work.

The South Dearborn Community School Corporation Board of Trustees made the announcement on Monday morning.

"In our last communication, we let you know the Board would be providing our community with additional information as it became available related to Mrs. Kyle Miller. The Board has had the opportunity to meet with Mrs. Miller, and we are pleased to report that she will be returning to Dillsboro Elementary School today, Monday, August 24, 2026," reads a statement from the Board of Trustees.

Hundreds of community members packed a school board meeting last Wednesday to show support to Miller, who had been suspended for alleged insubordination. However, the suspension was never publicly explained, due to personnel matters requiring confidentiality.

In the wake of Miller's suspension, an online petition was launched, seeking accountability, transparency and leadership change at South Dearborn Schools.
