Nearly 300 people have signed the petition as of Aug. 20

(Aurora, Ind.) - Nearly 300 people have signed an online petition for accountability, transparency and leadership change at South Dearborn Schools.
The petition was launched after Dillsboro Elementary School principal Kyle Miller was placed on administrative leave last week.
Her suspension was a topic at Tuesday night's South Dearborn School Board meeting.
Miller's suspension has not been publicly explained, which appeared to contribute to the concern and frustration expressed by several speakers on Tuesday night.
Superintendent Dr. Ron Ross and school board members made no statements concerning issues involving Miller because personnel matters require confidentiality and may be discussed only with the people directly involved.
On Wednesday, Miller reportedly returned to school only to find out her suspension had been extended. Eagle Country 99.3 reached out to the Superintedent's Office for confirmation but received no response.
The online petition asks the South Dearborn School Board to "listen to the people they were elected to represent."
Those who have signed the petition have concerns about Miller's recent suspension, recent loss of staff, and trust in district leadership decline.
"Our school board members were elected to represent us. They are responsible for providing oversight and holding district leadership accountable. They should not simply approve whatever is placed in front of them. They should ask questions, They should demand answers. They should listen to employees. They should listen to parents. They should listen to students and community members," reads a portion of the petition.
