The board addressed who is currently leading the school while the suspension rolls on.

(Aurora, Ind.) - The South Dearborn Community School Corporation Board of Trustees released the following statement regarding the ongoing situation related to the suspension of Dillsboro Elementary School Principal Kyle Miller:
"The South Dearborn Community School Corporation Board of Trustees recognizes that members of our community have questions and concerns regarding the current situation at Dillsboro Elementary. We understand that uncertainty can be difficult, and we appreciate the patience, care, and support our community continues to show for our students, staff, and schools.
Our first priority is, and will always be, the safety, well-being, and educational experience of our students. We want to assure Dillsboro Elementary families that the school continues to have strong leadership and support in place. Mary Bailey has been assigned to serve as the principal on duty at Dillsboro Elementary during this time. She and the school staff are committed to providing the safe, caring, and supportive environment that our students and families have come to expect.
The Board is actively working to address the circumstances surrounding this matter. We have made multiple attempts to communicate with Mrs. Kyle Miller and believe that an open and constructive conversation is an important part of understanding the situation and determining the appropriate path forward.
At this time, the Board is continuing to gather information and review the circumstances carefully. We recognize that there are many questions within our community, but it is important that we allow this process to take place thoughtfully, fairly, and with appropriate consideration for everyone involved.
Our commitment is to make decisions based on the facts and, above all, on what is in the best interests of our students, staff, families, and the South Dearborn community.
We ask for your continued patience and understanding as this process moves forward. We know that many people are frustrated and uncertain, and we respect those concerns. We also recognize the importance of clear communication and will provide additional information to the community when we are able to do so appropriately.
Thank you for your continued support of South Dearborn Community School Corporation and, most importantly, of the students we are privileged to serve."
