Detectives Watched As Thief Took Scrap

(Florence, Ky.) – A Florence man pleaded guilty and was sentenced just hours after being arrested for stealing scrap metal Monday.

 

Boone County Sheriff’s Office Scrap Unit detectives watched as Joseph Adams removed scrap from a fenced in area of Augur Metals, 10208 Toebben Drive, just after midnight Monday.

 

Detectives watched for about three hours as Adams was throwing scrap over the fence. Adams, 25, was arrested when he went to get his car to load it up with the stolen material.

 

Adams was charged with Theft by unlawful taking, Criminal Tresspass 2nd degree, and Criminal Trespass 3rd degree.

 

He pleaded guilty during his initial arraignment later Monday morning and received 30 days to serve.
