Cross Plains Man Flips Vehicle On SR 129, Exits Under His Own Power

The man was treated at an area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries

(Ripley County, Ind.) - A Cross Plains man was hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident in Ripley County.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on State Road 129 near Halcomb Home Center around 4:02 p.m. on Monday.

Deputies say Cody Pennington, 24, was southbound on State Road 129 when he looked down at his phone and then crashed into a guardrail.

The impact caused Pennington’s vehicle to flip over the guardrail, landing on the roof.

Pennington exited the vehicle under his own power but was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
