Crash Claims A Life On I-75 In Florence

A Richmond, Kentucky resident died after his pickup slammed into a semi trailer.

(Florence, Ky.) - A fatal crash occurred on I-75 northbound in Florence just after midnight Saturday morning.

Florence Police say the wreck happened at the 180.1 mile marker. A caller reported they witnessed a pickup truck strike a tractor trailer in the rear, causing both vehicles to come to a stop in the roadway.

Officers say pickup truck driven by Phillip Todd Becraft, 39, of Richmond, Ky., had struck the rear of the tractor trailer, causing the front of the pickup to become partially lodged under the rear bumper of the tractor trailer.

Becraft was pronounced deceased at the scene.
