(St. Leon, Ind.) – Community members are coming together to help search for a missing Dearborn County man.

John Werner, 43, was reported missing on February 12.

Werner was last seen at his residence on Trojan Road in northern Dearborn County.

This past Saturday, Texas EquuaSearch Midwest came into the area to comb the grounds, but freezing temperatures and residual snow hindered the search.

Crews are continuing to search the area, and a community search has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 24.

Individuals 18 and older are invited to participate in the search. Volunteers will meet at the American Legion Hall Post 464 in the shelter behind the building in St. Leon at 3:30 p.m.

Volunteers may bring their ATV/UTV to assist with the search. Others will travel by foot. Event organizers encourage volunteers to mark yourself as attending and what you are wanting to help with at https://fb.me/e/210NbNYbm

All attendees are asked to dress appropriately for the weather, including proper footwear.

Anyone with information about Werner’s whereabouts should call the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office at 812-537-3431.
