(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The United Way of Greater Cincinnati Southeast Indiana has partnered with the City of Lawrenceburg and the Dearborn County Parks Department to install Talking is Teaching signs.

Two new signs can be found at Ludlow Hill Park.

The signs engage 2–3-year-olds with fun, interactive signs that also provide parents and caregivers with valuable information for helping youngsters be kindergarten ready. The colorful signs feature fun facts about “cars” on one side and “trains” on the other. They also include a QR code that provides additional parenting resources.

The cities of Lawrenceburg and Greendale already have signs posted in their parks and more will soon be installed in parks all over the county. This initiative is part of the UW’s Early Learning Initiative through Early Learning Indiana program that seeks to get preschool children ready for kindergarten.

Research shows that children who have strong preparation via quality day care or other focused programs are far more successful not only in their first year of school but throughout their schooling years.
