City Of Lawrenceburg To Break Ground On $32 Million Apartment Complex On Monday

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Flaherty & Collins Properties and the City of Lawrenceburg will break ground on Whiskey River, a $32 million development that will bring 150 high-end apartments to the banks of the Ohio River.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 500 W. High Street in Lawrenceburg on Monday, October 26, 2020 at 11am EDT.

“Here in the City of Lawrenceburg, thru focused investments with the Flaherty & Collins Properties as a public/private partnership towards providing quality housing options, we are extremely excited to break ground on the 150 unit luxury apartments known as the Whiskey River Apartments,” says Lawrenceburg Mayor Kelly Mollaun.

“This day is the collaborative result of strategic long-term planning and preparation that we have all been waiting for.  As an award winning, tri-state city next door with prominent amenities and many exciting economic initiatives unfolding, the City of Lawrenceburg is laser focused for growth as a ‘City on the Rise.’ We look forward to partnering with Flaherty & Collins to ensure our community transition to provide more quality housing is intended to continue to transform downtown historic Lawrenceburg with every opportunity for success.” 

“We are excited to get started on Whiskey River,” said Deron Kintner, General Counsel and lead project developer for Flaherty & Collins Properties. “The City of Lawrenceburg have been great partners in this project, especially at a time when we believe economic development is more important than ever. Whiskey River will be a vital component for helping the City realize its vision for waterfront area, while giving new residents an exciting living destination that energizes the banks of the Ohio River.”

The development will provide many unique amenities such as a resort-style pool, lounge area, grills, a co-working lounge and patio. Whiskey River also features a fitness center, a bark park, dog spa, bike storage with bike wash and repair station. Additionally, the project includes public green space. Apartments will feature modern finishes, LED lighting, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, washer and dryer and private balconies on most units.

“Whiskey River will bring new residents to the area and with strong disposable income to make employee recruiting easier and help support the local business,” Kintner adds. “These new residences will help drive the demand for further development in Lawrenceburg, creating an estimated $25,000,000 in economic impact.”

The development represents a capital investment of approximately $32,000,000, with Busey Bank serving as construction lender.

Flaherty & Collins Construction will serve as the General Contractor. American Structurepoint is the project architect and engineering firm. Flaherty & Collins Properties will manage the project upon completion.

The project, at 179,410 square feet, should be completed by the Summer of 2022.
