Christmas in August? Lawrenceburg Striving to Win Hallmark's Merriest Christmas Town Contest

There is a reason a Christmas tree is up in downtown Lawrenceburg

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - If you are wondering why there is a Christmas tree in front of the Civic Park Pavilion, it is because the City of Lawrenceburg is hoping to become Hallmark Channel's Merriest Christmas Town Contest.

Eagle Country 99.3 reported last week that the City of Lawrenceburg has been nominated for the contest, which will result in the winning town being featured in an original Hallmark movie.

The more nominations a city or town receives, the better the chances of being in the final running. You can nominate Lawrenceburg again or click here to nominate your favorite local Christmas town.

After the entry period closes, Hallmark will review all eligible entries and select a group of 25 finalist towns to advance to the public voting phase.

Public voting will run from August 14 through September 4.
