This is a sequel to their 2022 book "Foundry Friends Make a Casting".

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Batesville Products, a Lawrenceburg manufacturing company, released a new book introducing children to the foundry industry.

In The Hunt for Metal Treasure, three friends go on a pirate adventure to look for metal castings around town. They discover that USA manufacturing is all around us – from playgrounds and kitchens to dentist offices and construction sites. Many of the castings they find are based off real parts manufactured here in Lawrenceburg and Aurora, Indiana.

The book was written by Mary Jutzi, Batesville Products Digital Marketing Associate, and illustrated by Phil Ohlhaut, local artist. Batesville Products was awarded an IN-MaC micro-grant to print and distribute the new children’s book.

Batesville Products plans to donate the book to local elementary schools and visit classrooms to teach the next generation about manufacturing.

This is a sequel to their 2022 book, Foundry Friends Make a Casting, which teaches young kids how castings are manufactured.
