By Travis Thayer (Osgood, Ind.) – Big performances helped Jac-Cen-Del High School’s Evan Borgman and South Ripley’s Brady Meyer earn honors as Ohio River Valley Conference Basketball Co-Players of the Week. The ORVC weekly report for the week of February 15-20 was released Tuesday. Borgman, a 6’8” senior, totaled 50 points, 23 rebounds, and six blocks in two games. In a February 16 Eagles win over Rising Sun, Borgman went off for 29 points and 12 rebounds. South Ripley’s Brady Meyer joined Borgman as ORVC Co-Player of the Week, accumulating 55 points and 11 rebounds in two games. The 6’4” senior guard posted a 32 point effort, helping the Raiders defeat Rising Sun on February 19. Jac-Cen-Del (16-5, 5-0 ORVC) will travel to South Ripley (18-4, 5-0 ORVC) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, February 26 in a game that will determine the ORVC Champion. In girl’s action, the No. 2 ranked Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles (26-1) will play No. 6 Argos (24-3) for the Class 1A State Championship at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Banker Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
