Boone the Bluetick Coonhound Wins Rabbit Hash Mayoral Election

The longstanding tradition raises money for the Rabbit Hash Historical Society.

(Rabbit Hash, Ky.) - The tally is in, and Boone has won the election as the new mayor of Rabbit Hash.

Every four years, the Mayoral race in Rabbit Hash raises funds for the Rabbit Hash Historical Society. Residents vote on their favorite canine candidate by pledging a dollar per vote.

Boone, a Bluetick Coonhound, received a record 14,162 votes.

He replaces Wilbur Beast, a French bulldog, who unseated Brynneth Pawltro in 2020 with a then record vote count of 13,143 votes

The tradition of electing a dog mayor dates back to the 1990s.

This year, over $26,000 was raised for the Rabbit Hash Historical Society.
