Bitter Cold Temperatures Expected Next Week

An Extreme Cold Watch is in effect from early Monday morning to Wednesday morning.

(Wilmington, Oh.) - After some rain on Saturday, and possibly some light snow on Sunday, a very cold air mass will move into the area for the first half of next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, high temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will be in the 10 to 15 range. 

Wind chill values as low as 5 to 15 degrees below zero will be possible at times Monday morning through Wednesday morning. As a result, an Extreme Cold Watch is in effect from 1:00 a.m. Monday to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. 

Day by day forecast: 

  • Sunday night: Low (-3)
  • Monday: Sunny with high of 11, low of -1
  • Tuesday: Mostly Sunny with high of 11, low of -4
  • Wednesday: Sunny with high of 21, low around 15

To prevent water pipes from freezing, wrap, drain, or allow them to drip slowly.
