UPDATE: Autistic Teen Found In Florence

Update published at 1:00 p.m.:

Florence Police say an autistic teen missing from his home was located soon after the word of his disappearance was broadcast on the news.

"At approximately 12:30 p.m., a witness who saw the information on the news called and stated they had seen Treavor around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of U.S.42 and Weaver Road. Florence Officers began checking all of the businesses in the area," said Grau.

An officer located Treavor in the bathroom of Burger King on U.S. 42. He was in good condition.

The Florence Police Department would like to thank everyone involved in the search.

(Florence, Ky.) – The Florence Police Department is alerting the public to be watching for a critical missing teen.

Treavor Stevens, 19, went missing from his home on Hitching Post Place on Thursday morning, August 2, around 10:00 a.m.

Stevens’ mother told police he is severely autistic, bi-polar, and ADHD. He requires medication. She last saw him around 2:00 a.m. when she went to bed, but he was gone when she woke up.

Police said Stevens has gone missing before and usually walks to businesses on U.S. 42, but also to a family member’s house off of Mt. Zion Rd.

Treavor is described as 5’ 6”, 150 pounds, with brown hair and a brown beard. He has limited communication skills and may be afraid of strangers.

Boone County EMA is assisting Florence Police with the search.

Anybody who may see or know of Stevens’ location is asked to call the Florence Police Department, (859) 647-5420, immediately.
