Aurora Police responded to the 400 block of 3rd Street around 12:30 a.m. on April 23 where people were reportedly fighting inside and outside of a residence. It was there that Nathaniel L. Woodruff, 22, of Aurora, was arrested and charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (Class A misdemeanor) and Disorderly Conduct (Class B misdemeanor) on April 23. According to a probable cause affidavit, Woodruff headbutted a male who was in the home, causing a bloody nose, black eye and several other abrasions. The victim told police that the altercation began after he broke up an argument Woodruff was having with his girlfriend. Following the fight, police say Woodruff became aggressive and non-compliant towards their commands. While being escorted to the police cruiser, Woodruff allegedly tried several times to throw his head backwards in effort to headbutt officers. Court documents also show that Woodruff allegedly spit all over the patrol vehicle and made the comment, "wait until you take these handcuffs off of me" while being transported to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center (LEC). He is currently being held in the LEC on $500 bond.
