AUDIO: Relay For Life Returns In-Person With Scaled Back Three-Hour Event

There is still time to get involved by participating or donating to the cause.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – No donation is too small at Relay for Life.

The 25th annual Relay for Life Dearborn/Ohio County takes place on Saturday, August 21 at Todd Creech Park in Lawrenceburg.

The event will be held in-person from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 pm.

Scheduled events include Opening Ceremony, Survivor/Caregiver Walk, Luminaria Ceremony, and Closing Ceremony. Other festivities include silent auction, games, face painting and more.

Attendees are encouraged to wear face coverings and social distance.

Additionally, St. Elizabeth’s Mobile Mammography Unit will be on site from 1:30-3:30 p.m. According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer screenings were down 87 percent in 2020. To schedule an appointment, call 859-655-7400.

Since Relay for Life was created in 1997, the event has raised $2.7 million towards cancer research.

To date, local participants of Relay for Life Dearborn/Ohio County have raised over $63,000, surpassing the $60,000 goal.
