(Franklin County, Ind.) – Speed and poor weather conditions were the cause of another serious accident in Franklin County.
Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash on U.S. 52 in the early morning hours of September 9.
Deputies say Nathan J. Bailey, 23, of Brookville, failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, which caused his vehicle to cross the westbound lane and travel off the roadway.
Bailey’s vehicle would strike a utility pole before rolling over embankment. Bailey was ejected from the vehicle and pinned underneath the vehicle.
He was transported to University Medical Center in Cincinnati for treatment. The extent of his injuries was not disclosed, and his status is unknown.
The accident caused U.S. 52 to be closed for approximately 5 ½ hours. Since May 1, there have been two fatal accidents, eight personal injury accidents and 17 property damage accidents on U.S. 52.
