U.S. 50 near the Indiana-Ohio state line was shut down for more than two hours Thursday.

(Whitewater Township, Oh.) - Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies say drugs or alcohol were contributors in a serious crash that shut down U.S. 50 in Whitewater Township.
Crystal Kirk, 38, of Aurora, lost control of her vehicle and crossed the center-line of U.S. 50 just west of Lawrenceburg Road at around 11:09 a.m. Her 2008 Nissan Rogue hit a semi tractor trailer head-on.
Kirk was seriously injured. She had to be extricated from the wrecked vehicle before she could be rushed to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by the Whitewater Township Fire Department. It is unknown if she was wearing a seatbelt.
The truck driver, Jeff Gill, of Cincinnati, was not hurt. He was wearing his safety restraint.
The sheriff’s office is still investigating the wreck.
