(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A couple candidates for Indiana Sixth District Congressman will meet with voters in Lawrenceburg Thursday evening.
Dearborn County-based Tea Party group We the Hoosiers is holding the Meet the Candidates event at 6:30 at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department, 300 W Tate Street.
Don Bates and Kristen Foster will present their platform and take questions from the audience, said We the Hoosiers Chairman Alex Parniuk. Questions can also be submitted online at www.wethehoosiers.com.
Bates is a financial advisory from Winchester. Foster is a lawyer and founder of Child Share Indiana.
Bates and Foster are two candidates in a crowded Republican field in the sixth district. Current congressman Mike Pence (R-Columbus) is leaving the office after five terms as he runs for Indiana governor in 2012.
Other Republican candidates which have either filed or announced a run in the Sixth District include Bill Frazier, Travis Hankins, John Hatter, Luke Messer, Andrew Phipps, Joseph Van Wye, and Joe Sizemore.
Democrats who have announced runs for the seat are Brad Bookout, Dan Bolling, Jim Crone, Barry Welsh, George Holland, and Susan Hall Heitzman.
