(Brookville, Ind.) – Jesse Meckley will spend the next 30 years behind bars for child molesting.
Meckley was arrested in Franklin County in September 2020 and charged with three counts of Child Molesting, four counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor, and one count of Rape, and Sexual Battery.
He bonded out of jail in November 2020 and failed to appear in court just weeks prior to his scheduled jury trial in August of 2021.
Last month, Meckley pleaded guilty to one count of Child Molesting and two counts of Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. In exchange for his plea, the remaining charges were dropped.
Meckley was sentenced September 1 in Franklin Circuit Court to 42-years at the Indiana Department of Correction with six years suspended to probation.
Additionally, Meckley will have to register as a sexually violent predator upon release from prison.
