A Cincinnati man is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase on U.S. 50, Stateline Road, and North Dearborn Road on May 17.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A motorcycle rider has been charged after leading a 100 MPH chase through Dearborn County on Friday, May 17.
Richard B. Sherrill, Jr., of Cincinnati, is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (level 6 felony), Criminal Mischief (class A misdemeanor), Possession of Marijuana with a Prior Conviction (class A misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (class B misdemeanor), Criminal Recklessness (class B misdemeanor) and numerous traffic infractions.
According to Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Lynn Deddens, an Indiana State Police trooper heard a dispatch about a vehicle pursuit which had started on U.S. 50 in Ohio and was heading toward Indiana.
It was only a few moments later when the trooper observed Sherrill on his motorcycle traveling north on Stateline Road at over 70 MPH. The trooper turned around to catch up to the biker.
As the police were in pursuit, Sherrill allegedly accelerated and began passing vehicle on double-yellow lines and around blind curves. One driver of a vehicle with children inside told Eagle Country 99.3 that their vehicle was nearly struck head-on by the biker.
Sherrill continued speeding north on Stateline Road into Bright where he continued to pass unsafely, Deddens said. Some vehicles ran off the road to avoid a collision.
The suspect allegedly ran a stop sign as he sped away at speeds around 100 MPH.
The chase was ended on the 1700 block of North Dearborn Road when Sherrill could not navigate a curve and drove into a yard.
Sherrill was complaining of pain as police took him into custody. He was transported to Highpoint Health and later transferred to University of Cincinnati Medical Center for evaluation.
Deddens says a warrant has been issued for Sherrill’s arrest.
