SD's Gray Named to 2025 HBCA Underclass All-District Team

(Southern Indiana) - Three high school basketball stars from the Eagle Country 99.3 listening area have earned a prestigious honor from the Hoosier Basketball Coaches Association. 

The HBCA recently named their 2025 Underclass All-District Boys Teams. 

The District 3 team in made up of:

  • Trenton Luers, Batesville
  • Keaton Lawson, Columbus East
  • Carter Patterson, Columbus East
  • Caleb Ferguson, Columbus North
  • Austin Perry, Columbus North
  • Stryker Gill, Hauser
  • Gavin Keller, Hauser
  • Kellen Crin, Morristown
  • Caden Claxton, Shelbyville
  • Max Nicholson, Shelbyville
  • Scout Gray, South Dearborn
  • Drew Volz, South Ripley

Scout Gray, a sophomore, is averaging 13.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game, according to MaxPreps. Gray has played a key role in leading to the Knights to a 15-9 heading into the Class 3A Sectional Semifinals against Lawrenceburg on Friday night. 

South Ripley's Drew Volz has been a near 10 point per game performer for the #2 ranked Raiders. South Ripley will play Brown County in the Class 2A Sectional 45 Semifinals on Friday at 6:00 p.m.

Trenton Luers earned All-District honors by averaging 11.3 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. The Bulldogs will play Jennings County this Friday in the Class 3A Sectional 29 Semifinals.
