Trabel Repeats as EIAC MVP, Baker & Redar Help Fill Out All-Conference Team

Twelve players were featured on the all-conference team while nine others received votes.

(St. Leon, Ind.) – Twelve girls basketball stars have been recognized by the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference. 

The 2023 EIAC Girls Basketball All-Conference Team was released on Wednesday.

Conference champion East Central (7-0) placed two on the all-conference team, including leading vote getter and now four-time all-conference selection and back-to-back EIAC MVP Josie Trabel.

The Lady Trojans senior and Wofford College commit finished the season averaging 20.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.6 steals per game.

Trabel, East Central’s all-time leading scorer with 1,880 career points, was joined on the all-conference team by fellow senior Laney Baker. The Thomas More commit made the all-conference team for a second year in a row by averaging 13.7 points, 3.0 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals this season.

Another Dearborn County star, Lizzie Redar, earned her way onto the all-conference team for a second straight year by averaging a double-double. The Lady Tigers star led her team in scoring (14.4 PPG) and rebounding (10.3 RPG). Redar finished her high school career with 1,462 career points.

The rest of the 2023 EIAC Girls Basketball All-Conference Team is as follows:

  • Leah West (2nd AC Selection), Aly Powers, Carlee Adams (Greensburg)
  • Briley Munchel, Leonie Boyer, Belle Gossett (Rushville)
  • Nicole Mears, Kassidy Schell (Franklin County)
  • Alyson Peters (Batesville)

Other receiving votes: Addy Jones (Rushville), Haley Sembach (Connersville), Natalie Cantrell (South Dearborn), Natalie Knigga (Lawrenceburg), Aubree Labazzo (Lawrenceburg), Emma Weiler (Batesville), Mary Harmon (Greensburg), Emma McQueen (Greensburg), and Caitlyn Dick (East Central).

The All-Conference Team was voted on by EIAC coaches.
