Thomas More Captures NAIA Women's Basketball National Championship

(Crestview Hills, Ky.) – The Thomas More University women’s basketball team are national champions.

The Saints finished off the season with a 32-4 record after knocking off Dordt (Iowa) in the NAIA National Championship game on Tuesday evening. Thomas More jumped out to an early 21-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back - winning the game 77-65. 

Tournament MVP and Greendale-native Alexah Chrisman led the Saints with a team-high 16 points (7-8 FG), 7 rebounds, and two assists.

The NAIA National Championship is the first for Thomas More, and their third overall.

Local student-athletes on the Thomas More roster include Courtney Hurst (Conner), Summer Secrist (Scott), Maggie Jones (Simon Kenton), Mattison Vickers (Simon Kenton), and Paige Ledford (Jac-Cen-Del).
