INDIANAPOLIS – Six high school soccer stars from southeastern Indiana have been honored amongst the best in the state.

The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association recently unveiled their 2023 Boys and Girls All-District Teams.

East Central junior midfielder Brennan Lewis was named First Team All-District 4. He helped lead the Trojans to a 17-2-1 record including an EIAC and Sectional title. He scored double-digit goals and was among the team leaders in assists. 

Switzerland County junior Cooper Todd  was named Second Team All-District in District 4.

Todd finished the season with 26 goals and four assists. Through his junior season, Todd leads all of the Class of 2025, regardless of class, in goals scored with 74 to go along with 23 assists. 

On the girls’ side, the East Central duo of Olivia Hopper and Lexi Watkins were named to the First Team in District 3. The senior forwards helped lead the Lady Trojans to EIAC and Sectional titles this season. The future Division I athletes had record setting careers.

Hopper will leave East Central with the most goals (72) and most points (196) in program history. This season, Hopper scored 23 times with 23 assists. For Watkins, she is EC’s all-time leader in assists with 54. She assisted on 25 goals this season and scored a team-high 28 goals.

Hopper is set to play collegiately at Indiana State University, while Watkins is committed to Ball State University.

Two Lawrenceburg defenders earned All-District honors. Sophomore Aubree Labazzo was selected to the First Team in District 4, while junior Kelsey Offutt was named to the Second Team. They anchored a Lawrenceburg defense that allowed only 14 goals in 22 matches, in route to a sectional championship.

Oldenburg Academy freshman Claire Neise rounded out the local selections with placement on the District 4 Second Team. Neise had a huge first year at the varsity level, scoring a team-high 28 goals while adding eight assists.
