Switz. Co. Basketball Stars Highlight ORVC Report for Dec. 4-9

(Vevay, Ind.) – The ORVC Report for December 4-9 was released on Tuesday.

The list of weekly honorees is highlighted by Switzerland County sophomore Lauren Smith. She earned ORVC Girls Basketball Co-Player of the Week after a record-tying performance.

She grabbed 19 rebounds in a win over Carroll County, tying the previous school record for rebounds in a game set by Janna (Stultz) Sweeney. In total, Smith tallied 14 points, 27 rebounds and 5 assists in two games last week.

Jac-Cen-Del’s Julia Meyer shares the weekly award with Smith. Meyer had two double-doubles last week, totaling 43 points, 26 rebounds and 3 assists. For her efforts, she was named the IBCA District 3 Girls Player of the Week on Tuesday morning.

Switzerland County’s Cam Craig and Southwestern’s Peyton Cloud are the ORVC Boys Basketball Players of the Week.

Craig helped the Pacers to a 65-50 win in the Ruler of the River game against Rising Sun. He had a game-high 31 points and 10 rebounds. Cloud was equally impressive, scoring 49 points in two games including a career-high 36 points in a blowout win over Batesville.

The ORVC Swim Performers of the Week are Matthew Vaughn (Shawe) and Natalee Crawford (Southwestern)
