Southwestern's Sophomore Standout Repeats As ORVC Basketball POTW

Foster Mefford has been on a tear for the top-ranked Rebels.

(Hanover, Ind.) – The beat goes on for the top-ranked boys basketball team in Indiana Class 2A.

Southwestern (Hanover) has won 13-straight games (22-1 overall) on their way to winning their second-consecutive Ohio River Valley Conference championship.

On Tuesday, sophomore guard Foster Mefford was named the ORVC Boys Basketball Player of the Week for his performance against South Dearborn. Mefford helped the Rebels to a 64-68 win with 41 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.

This is the second week in a row Mefford has been named ORVC POTW. 

Mefford is the ORVC’s leading assist man at 7.3 per game. He also ranks as the conference’s third-leading scorer at 16.0 ppg.

Southwestern begins sectional play Tuesday night when they take on Switzerland County at South Ripley High School.
