Current Chief Charles Lindsey is set to retire in early 2027

(Harrison, Oh.) - Joe Ramsey has been selected to become Harrison's next Chief of Police.
The Harrison native is a graduate of William Henry Harrison High School and has served the community through the Harrison Police Department for more than 20 years.
Ramsey, who currently serves as captain, will replace Chief Charles Lindsey upon his retirement in early 2027.
Ramsey began his law enforcement career in 2003. He joined the Harrison Police force in 2005.
Earlier this year, Ramsey earned the Harrison Police Department Medal of Valor for his actions at a fire at the Huntley Ridge Apartments with a resident still trapped inside.
“Captain Ramsey is more than capable of leading this department and we are excited to see him excel in the position as a community leader as well,” City Administrator Kim Downey said. “His extensive knowledge, experience and training will serve the citizens of the City of Harrison well.”
Aside from serving as captain, Ramsey is also the Field Commander (Colonel) for the Hamilton County Police Association’s Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). In this role he oversees and manages a multi-jurisdictional tactical organization that serves 37 communities and approximately 450,000 residents.
