ORVC Names Top Performers for August 3-22

(Versailles, Ind.) - Seven student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference. 

The first ORVC report for the 2026-27 fall sports season was released this week. 

Milan's Brooklyn Bledsoe was named the Girls Soccer Player of the Week. Bledsoe netted four goals and added three assists in two matches. The Boys Soccer Player of the Week is Weston Cumberworth. The Rising Sun star scored four goals in two matches, including a hat trick against Franklin County. 

In girls golf, Alexis Mangold took home weekly honors. The Switzerland County standout carded an 82 at Sunrise and a 43 at Belterra. 

The Boys Cross Country Top Performers of the Week are Mason Bascom (South Ripley) and Cohenn Hambrick (Shawe Memorial). Bascom finished with a time of 19:49 at Batesville and 18:49 at Small School. Hambrick ran an 18:25 at Madison. The Girls Cross Country Top Performer of the Week is Southwestern's Harper Green. She ran a 20:02 at Small School. 

South Ripley's Claire Samples is the Volleyball Player of the Week. She tallied 36 kills, 23 digs, three blocks, and three aces in three matches.
