Meyer, Mears, Simpson Named IBCA All-State Honorable Mention

The trio is among seven players from the EIAC or ORVC to earn All-State honors.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association today announced their All-State Teams for the 2023-24 girls high school basketball season.

Fifteen seniors and 15 underclass players earned Supreme 15 All-State honors, while many more were named Large School All-State, Small School All-State, or Honorable Mention.

Area players earning recognition that played in either the EIAC or ORVC are:

Julia Meyer (Jac-Cen-Del) – Senior Honorable Mention

  • 14.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.5 steals per game

Nicole Mears (Franklin County) – Senior Honorable Mention

  • 17.9 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.1 blocks

Alyssa Simpson (Rising Sun) – Senior Honorable Mention

  • 17.3 points, 12.3 rebounds

Leah West (Greensburg) – Underclass Large School All-State

  • 16.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists

Allison Knoebel (Shawe Memorial) – Underclass Honorable Mention

  • 16.1 points, 6.8 rebounds

Claire Larrison (Greensburg) – Underclass Honorable Mention

  • 9.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 2.2 steals

Mylie Wilkison (Greensburg) – Underclass Honorable Mention

  • 14.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 2.4 steals

In total, 270 players -- 135 seniors and 135 underclass players -- were recognized on the 2024 IBCA girls' basketball All-State teams.
