(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A youngster from Lawrenceburg is blazing a trail in the world of bull riding.
Auston Young, 11, became the 2021 Junior American Bull Riding Champion on February 28 at Will Roger Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.
Young, a Greendale Middle School student, has been bull riding since he was five years old. He broke onto the national scene in 2019 when he cracked the Miniature Bull Riders Association’s Top 10 rankings.
At the Junior American event, Young covered his third bull out of three to win the championship.
Typically, these types of competitions take place out west. Therefore, Young spends time traveling all over the country to ride bulls.
He is currently 6th in the world standings in the junior standings.
