IHSAA Releases Girls Tennis Sectional Pairings

The state tournament starts on Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS – The path to winning a state tennis championship has been laid out. 

The sectional pairings for the 48th annual IHSAA Girls Tennis State Tournament were announced on Monday evening.

A total of 307 schools were drawn and placed into brackets for the team tournament that begins Wednesday, May 17. Sectional play will continue through Saturday, May 20.

From there, 64 teams will advance to the regional round May 23-24.

The semi-state round will follow on May 27 at Center Grove, Culver Academies, Homestead, and Jasper.

Eight-team state finals are scheduled for June 2-3 with state quarterfinal matches played at Carmel and Center Grove. The next day’s semifinals and state championship matches will be contested at Center Grove in Greenwood.

Locally, Franklin County and Oldenburg Academy were among the 64 sectional champions a year ago.

M1: Franklin County vs. Rushville
M2: Union County vs. Connersville
Championship: M1 Winner vs. M2 Winner

Sectional 16 at East Central

M1: Lawrenceburg vs. Milan
M2: East Central vs. Batesville
M3: South Dearborn vs. M1 Winner
M4: Oldenburg vs. M2 Winner
Championship: M3 Winner vs. M4 Winner
