(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Two communities came together on Thursday night to watch an entertaining basketball game and raise money for a great cause.

The Lawrenceburg Lady Tigers hosted Rising Sun for their third annual Hooping for Hope game.

On the floor, the Tigers won the varsity contest by a score of 54-38 behind 20 points from sophomore Brooklyn Craig and 13 points from junior Kamryn Ferreira. Alyssa Simpson led Rising Sun in scoring with 19 points.

Off the floor, attendees made donations, purchased raffle tickets, bought t-shirts from Ohio Valley Screenprinting, and tickets to the game with all proceeds going to the IWIN Foundation.

The fundraising total was $2,900, which was well above the goal of $2,000. The funds will supports individuals statewide receiving treatment for breast cancer by relieving emotional, physical, and financial burdens.

Thursday's event also featured a pre-game ceremony which honored and remembered those who have battled various types of cancer.
