(Brookville, Ind.) - The wait is over for the Franklin County Wildcats varsity football team.

They will take to their brand new turf field on Friday night when they host Rushville.

Plans to install a multi-use turf field were approved last September when the school board voted 7-0 to purchase and install the field. The finishing touches were completed just this week, including the sideline areas.

Franklin County comes into tonight's matchup with Rushville at 1-1. The Wildcats defeated Connersville 35-26 last Friday behind a four touchdown performance from Jared Moore. Rushville is 0-2 with losses to Milan and Shelbyville.

Prior to tonight's contest, Franklin County's 12th Man Club will host a community tailgate behind Brookville Elementary School. The event will feature multiple food trucks, and a booth with old wildcat jerseys for sale. The tailgate runs from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The game will kickoff at 7:00.
