First ORVC Report of 2026 Spring Season Released

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - The spring sports season is underway, and student athletes have earned weekly honors from the Ohio River Valley Conference.

The ORVC Report for March 23 through April 11 was released on Tuesday. 

Jac-Cen-Del's Brody Huff and Rising Sun's Landon Simpson have been named the ORVC Baseball Players of the Week.

Huff collected two hits, two stolen bases and three runs batted in in three games. He also tossed nine innings, giving up three hits and striking out 17 in a win on the mound. Simpson earned weekly honors with six hits, six runs, four RBI, and two stolen bases in three games. 

The ORVC Softball Player of the Week for March 23-29 is Kenna Eaglin. The Milan Indians star collected 13 RBI, 11 runs, six hits, and two home runs in five games. For the week of March 30 through April 4, the ORVC Softball Player of the Week is Rising Sun's Vicky Erickson. She homered twice, scored three times and knocked in five runs over a three-game span. 

Southwestern's Braxton Lewis is the ORVC Boys Golfer of the Week. He carded an 83 at Valley View, 41 at Butler Falls and a 36 at Sportsmans. 

Brady Begley, of South Ripley, and Madison Spillman, of Switzerland County, are the Top Track and Field Performers of the Week. Begley ran the 100 meters in 11.08 seconds. His time of 22.71 seconds in the 200 meters, set a South Ripley school record. Spillman posted the following times in the 100-, 200-and 400-meter events: 12.43, 25.99, 1:04.80.
