EC Trio, SD's Bond Named To ICGSA All-State Teams

An amazing accomplishment for all four girls.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Three East Central girls basketball stars and one South Dearborn standout have earned All-State honors.

The Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association released their All-State teams for the 2019-20 season on Thursday.

East Central freshman Josie Trabel was named First Team All-State. Trabel averaged 16.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.4 blocks, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals.

Brilan McCory earned a place on the All-State Second Team. McCory, a senior, was a do-it-all guard for the Lady Trojans. She averaged 10.4 points, 4.3 assists and 2.2 steals this season. She also broke the school record for most three-point makes with 104.

Lady Trojans sophomore Hope Fox was an All-State Third-Team selection. Fox was the team’s third-leading scorer at 9.8 points per game. She also averaged 3.5 assists and 2.3 steals. Fox may end up giving McCory a run for her money for the three-point makes record, making 38 three’s this season.

The three Lady Trojans helped their team capture their first sectional championship since 1992. East Central also won their first regional game in 45 years. 

South Dearborn star Kyrstin Bond was named to the ICGSA All-State Second Team. Bond averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists. Along the way, the Lady Knights star broke Amy March’s 30-year scoring record of 1,059 points.
