The campaign aims to feed families in need during the holiday.
(Aurora, Ind.) - September is Hunger Awareness Month.
For over 45 years, the Dearborn County Clearinghouse has been feeding local individuals and families with food insecurities.
The nonprofit organization recently announced their Adopt-a-Family campaign. This campaign is specifically designed to help feed families for the holidays.
The Clearinghouse is focused on creating meals that feature items you would like to see on your holiday table, such as turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, and a variety of vegetables.
The estimated cost to feed one family is $75. The Clearinghouse is accepting monetary donations of any amount, and food donations.
Soon, you will start to see Adopt-a-Family totes in local banks, dentist offices, car dealerships and other types of businesses. These will be places to donate and to learn more about the campaign.
What is unique about the Adopt-a-Family campaign is that individual who give can send a personalized note with the meal that gets distributed to the family in need.
