IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament Begins Next Week

A total of 404 teams will compete across four classifications.

INDIANAPOLIS - The IHSAA has unveiled sectional pairings for the 116th Boys Basketball State Tournament. 

A total of 404 teams will compete across four classifications. 

Sectional play will run Tuesday, March 3 through Saturday, March 7 at 60 locations across the state. Sectional champions will move on to a one game regional on Saturday, March 14. 

A two-game semi-state will take place on Saturday, March 21, followed by four state championship games on Saturday, March 28 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. 

Sectional pairings for local teams are listed below. 

Class 4A Sectional 14 at Columbus North 

G1: East Central vs. Franklin Community
G2: Columbus North vs. Columbus East
G3: Whiteland vs. Winner G1
Championship: Winner G2 vs. Winner G3

*Winner will play Martinsville Sectional Champion: #8 Terre Haute North, Bloomington South, Bloomington North, Martinsville, or Terre Haute South

 

Class 3A Sectional 29 at South Dearborn 

G1: Lawrenceburg vs. Greensburg
G2: Franklin County vs. Jennings County
G3: #10 Batesville vs. Winner G1
G4: South Dearborn vs. Winner G2
Championship: Winner G3 vs. Winner G4

*Winner will play Madison Sectional Champion: #1 Silver Creek, Charlestown, Corydon Central, #14 Brownstown Central, North Harrison or Madison

 

Class 2A Sectional 45 at Southwestern (Hanover)

G1: Brown County vs. Southwestern (Hanover)
G2: Austin vs. Switzerland County
G3: South Ripley vs. Winner G1
Championship: Winner G2 vs. Winner G3

*Winner will play Forest Park Sectional Champion: Evansville Mater Dei, Forest Park, South Spencer, North Posey, Perry Central, Pike Central, or Tell City

 

Class A Sectional 60 at Milan 

G1: Shawe Memorial vs. Trinity Lutheran
G2: Milan vs. Crothersville
G3: Oldenburg Academy vs. Jac-Cen-Del
G4: #3 Hauser vs. Rising Sun
G5: Winner G1 vs. Winner G2
G6: Winner G3 vs. Winner G4
Championship: Winner G5 vs. Winner G6

*Winner will play Tri Sectional Champion: #14 Morristown, South Decatur, North Decatur, Waldron, Tri, Knightstown, Edinburgh or Southwestern (Shelbyville)
