Aurora 4th Grader Nets K Of C Free Throw State Championship

(Aurora, Ind.) – A fourth grader from Aurora Elementary is a state champion.

Grady Walter won the 2018 Knights of Columbus Free Throw State Championship this past Saturday in Indianapolis. 

In order to reach the state level competition, Walter won three previous free throw shooting contests, including the local contest at St. Lawrence School. At state, Walter connected on 20-of-25 (80 percent) free throws to win the competition in the nine-year-old age group.

Walter didn’t have much time to celebrate his state championship as he had to join his Aurora teammates at a two-day tournament in Carrolton, Kentucky over the weekend.

The 4th grade Knights placed 2nd in the Carroll County Panther Classic.

Team members include: Grady Walter, Mason Hamlett, Noah Rogers, Josh Pettit, Alex Probst, Izaak Lozier, and Elliot Meek.
