The annual 12-day journey to Yellowstone happens this July.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – This July, high school students from Ripley County will have the opportunity of a lifetime.
Youth to Yellowstone of Ripley County will embark on their annual 12-day journey to Yellowstone National Park July 4-16.
Traveling by van, the group will camp for eight days at the Yellowstone’s Canyon Village campground, situated at an elevation of 8,000 feet. En route to Yellowstone, the group hikes in South Dakota’s Badlands National Park, visit iconic landmarks such as Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, and traverse the Wyoming Big Horn Mountains.
Other highlights of the trip include visiting Teton National Park.
The students nor their families incur any cost for the trip. All expenses are covered by Youth to Yellowstone of Ripley County. That includes transportation costs, food, tents, sleeping bags, and cameras. Students are only responsible for their basic clothing and everyday personal items.
Student applications are due by April 24. The application includes an essay which asks applicants to explain why you want to go to Yellowstone and what the opportunity would mean to you.
A student/parents meeting will be held on May 8, followed by a student activity day on May 30.
