(Greendale, Ind.) - Dearborn County's dining options continue to expand with yet another new restaurant expected to open its doors Wednesday. Buffalo Wings & Rings on Flossie Drive in Greendale held a special invitation-only soft opening Monday evening. The restaurant donated a portion of Monday’s sales to The Cure Starts Now Foundation in honor of Greendale resident and brain cancer warrior Lauren Hill. The general public will have their first crack at the restaurant's menu when it opens to the public Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. The restaurant serving much more than just beer and wings is a partnership among Perfect North Slopes owner Chip Perfect, Maxwell Construction, and operation partners Tim Doll and Frances Zwick. Buffalo Wings & Rings, headquartered in Cincinnati, was founded in 1984 as a small five-restaurant chain in the Queen City. Today, the chain has more than 50 locations in the U.S. and about a dozen in other countries. The fast-growing company is now in the process of expanding with new locations nationwide to challenge beer-and-wings giant Buffalo Wild Wings. Last June, Buffalo Wings & Rings announced plans to add 50 restaurants across the country over the next five years and began seeking out franchisees. Newer Buffalo Wings & Rings locations, such as the restaurant in Greendale, feature a brighter atmosphere and no neon signs – a far cry from most sports bar and grill establishments. The Greendale restaurant - which was announced last September - brags more than 40 big screen televisions mounted on walls and stands throughout the dining area. There is an outdoor patio where customers can enjoy their meal. Waitresses take customers’ orders on tablets, with the ability to pay by credit or debit card on the devices. Buffalo Wings & Rings is the latest in a string of recent restaurant openings in Dearborn County. Last week, River City Tap + Grill in downtown Lawrenceburg began welcoming customers. Chipotle Mexican Grill has been popular since opening last month on U.S. 50 in Aurora.
