Versailles' Stephens Earns Golden Hoosier Award

21 Indiana senior citizens were announced as winners of the 2018 Golden Hoosier Awards on Thursday, June 7.

(Versailles, Ind) - A Versailles resident is being named a Golden Hoosier.

Indiana Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch announced Thursday 21 Indiana senior citizens receiving the 2018 Golden Hoosier Awards.

Among them is Michael Stephens of Versailles.

The Golden Hoosier Award goes to seniors who have shown years of service and commitment to their state and community.

A ceremony for Stephens and the others will take place at the Indiana Statehouse on June 21.

"With more than 80 submissions from individuals across the state, it certainly was difficult to narrow down to 21 exceptional senior citizens," Crouch said. "I cannot wait to meet the award recipients and learn more about their passion for improving their communities."
