Update published at 12:00 p.m.:
The Ripley County Sheriff's Office says Fielding Marcum, 63, of Aurora, was airlifted to an area hospital following Wednesday's crash.
Around 12:00 p.m., Ripley County Communications reported reckless driving on northbound State Road 129 near Olean. Minutes later, deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident on SR 129 near the State Police Post in Versailles.
According to a news release, Marcum was northbound on SR 129 when he went left of the roadway and struck a utility pole and brick retaining wall.
Marcum had to be extricated from the vehicle by Versailles Fire and Rescue. He was transported by Stat Flight with unknown injuries.
According to Marcum's son, he had a medical emergency that caused his vehicle to go off the roadway.
The crash remains under investigation.

(Versailles, Ind.) - A serious crash in Versailles on Wednesday put a driver in the hospital.
The single-vehicle wreck happened on State Road 129 just east of U.S. 421. The car rolled off the highway.
St. Vincent Statflight responded to take the crash victim to a hospital. The person’s name and condition have not been released.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. Agencies assisting at the scene were Versailles Fire Rescue, Rescue 69, and Ripley County EMS.
