Lewis fled from police at speeds up to 90 MPH on the interstate before the chase eventually came to an end near Kilby Road in Harrison. Charges have been filed against Lewis, 42, of Cincinnati, and a bench warrant has been issued for her arrest in Dearborn County. Greendale Police Sgt. Kevin Turner says officers received a call of a reckless and speeding driver that had ran some vehicles off the road on Interstate 275 southbound from Ohio at the Lawrenceburg/Greendale exit. An officer soon afterwards spotted the vehicle, a silver 2000 Lexus, on U.S. 50 near the Kennett’s Marathon gas station. The driver of the suspect vehicle refused to stop and continued driving at about 20 MPH. The vehicle entered I-275 again heading towards Ohio, where it stopped on the entrance ramp. As the officer approached the vehicle, the driver took off at speeds in excess of 90 MPH, Turner said. The pursuit continued to the Kilby Road exit, then continued north on Kilby Road at 60 MPH. As the vehicle entered the Harrison area, Harrison Police and Hamilton County Sheriff’s deputies took over the pursuit. The chase ended at the Shell Gas Station in Harrison. The driver, whose name was not released, was taken into custody as part of an Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated investigation. The driver could be identified by Greendale Police if and when charges are filed in Indiana, said Turner. Greendale Police will be submitting charges to the Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor’s Office for review.   Original story published Friday, August 28 at 7:38 a.m.: (Greendale, Ind.) - A police chase began in Greendale and ended in Harrison Thursday night.
