UPDATE: One Dead, Three Hospitalized In L'burg House Fire

Update published at 9:45 a.m.: The Lawrenceburg Fire Department confirms that one person died and three more people were hospitalized as the result of a house fire on the 15900 block of Elizabeth Drive. Deputy Fire Chief Pat Myers said firefighters were called to the home as there was a report that one person was inside the burning structure. A body was found inside. The victim's name and cause of death have not been released. The Lawrenceburg Fire Department, Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office, Dearborn County Coroner's Office, Indiana State Police and Dearborn County Sheriff's Department are investigating. At least one other person was in the home as it caught fire. That individual was taken to Dearborn County Hospital with injuries. Two firefighters were hospitalized with minor smoke inhalation, Myers said. A cause of the blaze has not been determined. Lawrenceburg Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Greendale Fire Department and Lawrenceburg Emergency Rescue Unit. The fire was reported at around 6:44 a.m. at a home on the 15900 block of Elizabeth Drive. Dispatchers said one person was taken to Dearborn County Hospital. The victim's name and condition have not been released. Firefighters from Lawrenceburg and Greendale remain on the scene as of 9:00 a.m. A cause of the fire has not been given.
