(Delhi, Oh.) - Lauren Hill has played in her final college basketball game, maybe. On Tuesday, Hill scored two points in Mount Saint Joseph University’s home game against the College of Wooster. Lauren started the game and made the first basket. The MSJ Lions won the game 66-65. The freshman recorded 10 points in her college career, starting with four points in her November 2 nationally televised debut played at Xavier University’s Cintas Center. Hill, who is dealing with terminal brain cancer known as DIPG, is no longer enrolled at the Mount and Tuesday’s game was the final game in which she was eligible to play. However, MSJ coach Dan Benjamin told WCPO-TV that The Mount’s athletic director, Steve Radcliffe, has inquired with the NCAA about granting an exception that would allow Hill to play even if she is not registered for classes. The 19-year-old from Greendale continues to inspire and help raise funds for The Cure Starts Now Foundation. She has set a fundraising goal of $1 million by the end of the year for research for a cure through the DIPG Registry at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. So far, fundraising has exceeded $566,000 on the Lauren Hill Tribute Fund. You can donate at https://curestartsnow.z2systems.com/np/clients/curestartsnow/campaign.jsp?campaign=199&. The Skyline Chili restaurant in Harrison is hosting a benefit raffle to raise funds for Lauren’s cause. The tickets are available at the restaurant on Harrison Avenue from December 28 through January 11, with a grand prize of an in-house Skyline Chili party for 22 people.
